This would include what colors, designs and styles you see. The second step is to analyze the artwork. You would list the elements of art and the design principles (color, value, line, etc). The third step is to interpret the artwork. You would ask yourself what the piece is trying to portray or convey. The fourth and final step would be to judge the artwork. Ask yourself if the piece is successful or not and support your opinion using evidence. 2. The piece I will critique is the Idea of Place piece. This utilized acrylic paint and texture. The artwork is vibrant and uses lots of bright colors. I see a Ferris Wheel and the workings of a track, along with a pier and water. The color schemes are brighter blues, yellows and pinks towards the top and darker greens and grays towards the bottom (describe). The artwork has a lot of lines throughout. It also has a lot of color gradients which add a nice balance to the piece (analyze). The mood of the artwork is lively and fun. It portrays a sunny day at a Ferris wheel (interpret). I think that this piece is good! It shows a fun day at the Ferris wheel very well, I am very proud of it (judge). Pick Three Questions:
Q: What did you find the most difficult about this class? What could be done to resolve it in the future? A: In my opinion, the most difficult thing about this class was finding and generating ideas for specific projects. It was particularly hard for me to find ideas about places and likes since there were so many things special to me that I wanted to use. To resolve it in the future, I should try to be more decisive about my choices and stick to what I want to do. I should come up with an idea and stick to it.
